Program Overview

The Green Infrastructure Grant Program funds the design and construction of green stormwater infrastructure on large properties and in the public right-of-way, with the goal of reducing stormwater runoff while delivering public benefits that enhance the quality of life for all SFPUC rate payers. Project types can include permeable pavement, bioretention, rainwater harvesting, rain gardens, and vegetated roofs. Projects must capture stormwater runoff from at least 0.5 acres of impervious surface and can receive up to $2.5M per project. The program guidelines were recently updated to increase the maximum per-project grant funding and to allow for projects in the public right-of-way. Please see the resources section below for the latest information in the Program Guidebook, Application, and other important resources.

Stormwater Credit

After completing the project, you will also be eligible to apply for a stormwater credit to lower your monthly sewer bill. Find out more at stormwater.sfpuc.org.
