Program Steps and Key Documents

  1. Pre-Enrollment: All Applicants are encouraged to explore the resources and facts sheets on this website and review the Program Handbook for eligibility requirements and offerings.
  2. Program Enrollment: In addition to the Enrollment Agreement, the Applicant attends an Initial Meeting and Technical Orientation.
  3. Technical Assistance & Incentive Agreement: To reserve incentives, the Applicant completes an Incentive Agreement. Applicants converting at least four parking stalls may request no-cost technical assistance from the Program to help develop the required EV Charging Project Scope.
    • Incentive Agreement - Existing Buildings (for direct wiring projects, please contact the Program team for a different version of this form)
    • Incentive Agreement - New Construction Project (please contact the Program team for this form)
  4. Incentive Reservation: Upon SFPUC approval of the Incentive Agreement and incentive amount, SFPUC issues an Incentive Reservation Notice. At this point, the Applicant may purchase the EV charging equipment.

  5. Project Completion & Incentive Payment: After project construction is complete, the Applicant notifies the Program. The verification process, often including a site visit, confirms that the project is constructed per the Incentive Agreement and that all Program requirements are met. The SFPUC then issues the incentive.
