Bay Corridor Transmission and Distribution Phase 4 and Water Improvements

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is extending the Bay Corridor Transmission & Distribution electrical system, upgrading aging low-pressure water infrastructure, and expanding the high-pressure Emergency Firefighting Water System to better serve the needs of existing and future customers in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood.

Construction work will include the following components: 

1. Installation of underground electrical distribution and communication duct bank and accompanying vaults and appurtenances along Rankin Street, Evans Avenue, and Marin Street.
2. Installation of a ductile iron pipe potable water mains and accompanying valves, services, and other appurtenances along Evans Avenue, Marin Street, and Cesar Chavez Street.
3. Installation of a domestically manufactured earthquake resistant ductile iron pipe and accompanying valves and appurtenances, and cathodic protection along Marin Street.
4. Removal of existing and installation of new cast-in-place reinforced concrete valve vault with sump pump, a ball valve and hydraulic actuator, magnetic flow meter, and electrical cabinet along with conduit sleeves and other related work at Evans Avenue north of Napoleon Street.
