Water Main Rehabilitation Project: University Mound Reservoir to 3rd Street

The process of replacing and/or rehabilitating water mains involves multiple steps so construction will not occur continuously on each block. Crews may need to return to the same location several times, often with weeks or months between visits. Some activities, including testing and disinfection, and are not visible to the public so it may appear that no work is occurring even though progress is underway. 

During CIPP, a flexible liner is inserted into the existing pipe through one of the access points. The liner is inflated with hot water to press it against the interior of the existing pipe. The heat cures resin embedded in the lining, forming a rigid, seamless new pipe within the old one.

Local access for residents will be maintained at all times during work hours, though there may be some slight delay to enter or exit your property/driveway to allow for crews to create a safe path of travel.

Street parking will be temporarily restricted in the project area during construction hours. Please see posted signs for exact workdays, hours, and locations.

There will be noise, vibration, dust, and temporary traffic impacts in the work zone.
