Overview
The East SOMA Sewer Improvements Project will rehabilitate the existing 100-year-old sewer mains and sewer lower laterals located under several streets highlighted on the Project Maps.

3rd Street (King and Berry Street)
- June 23 & 30: Perform sewer main lining punchlist work.
Howard Street (2nd and 1st Street)
- June 30 – July 3: Perform CCTV inspection of new sewer laterals.
Bryant Street (3rd and 2nd Street)
- June 30 – July 2: Perform CCTV Inspection of new sewer laterals.
Mission Street (7th and 6th Street)
- June 23 –25: Install top hat liner for sewer laterals.
- June 30 – July 3: Perform CCTV inspection of new sewer laterals.
Mission Street (6th and 5th Street)
- June 30 – July 3: Perform CCTV inspection of new sewer laterals.
3rd Street (Folsom and Harrison Street)
- June 24 – 26: Perform mortaring of sewer main at intersection of 3rd and Harrison Street.
- July 1: Perform the re-energization on 3rd Street.
- July 1 – 3: Perform CCTV inspection of new sewer laterals.
Howard Street (Fremont and Main Street)
- June 23 – 24: Perform restoration work for manhole and laterals.
- June 24 – 25: Grinding and AC paving for sewer manhole and laterals.
- June 26 & June 30 –July 3: Perform mortaring of sewer manholes.
- June 30 – July 3: Perform CCTV inspection of new sewer laterals.

Project Background
To minimize impacts to the roadway and adjacent residences and businesses, most of the sewer rehabilitation work will be performed using a trenchless method called Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP). Construction will include improvements to sewer lower laterals within the project area. In some locations, street excavation may be required, and advance notice will be provided.

What to Expect During Construction
SEWER SERVICE: These services will NOT be interrupted during construction.
PARKING: Street parking will be impacted near construction zones. “No-parking” signs will be posted 72 hours in advance.
TRAFFIC: Partial lane closures may be necessary to ensure safety of workers and the public. Advance notice and detour signage will be provided, as needed.
MUNI: Passenger loading zone for bus stops may be temporarily relocated. Advance notice and detour signage will be provided as needed.
ACCESS: Follow posted signage on site. Driveway access to businesses and residents in the work zone will be maintained during construction.
NOISE: Neighbors may hear construction noise periodically. Noisy work will be conducted in compliance with the San Francisco Noise Ordinance.
ODORS: If necessary, odor control measures will be in place during construction. Please see CIPP page for more information: sfpuc.org/curedpipe.
NOTICE: A 30-day and 10-day notice will be distributed prior to construction to residents and businesses within the project area before construction begins.
