This Women's History Month, Carla Vaughn recalls the challenges women have had to overcome and how society and progressive movements are helping pave the future.
Deltrea Crayton is a laborer working for the firm MWH/Webcor, the joint venture Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC), on the Biosolids Digester Facilities Project (BDFP), part of the SFPUC’s major construction renovation and upgrades to the City’s largest wastewater treatment facility, the Southeast Treatment Plant, located in Bayview-Hunters Point.
As a Commissioner of the Southeast Community Facility, Amerika Sanchez helps make critical decisions on behalf of her community. Commissioner Sanchez is a proud resident of the Bayview and loves giving back to her community. She also serves as the Principal for Five Keys Charter Schools and Programs, an anchor tenant in the Southeast Community Center.
Last Saturday, February 18, the Southeast Community Center brought together hundreds of community members to celebrate Black History Month. The day gave families, friends, neighbors, and colleagues a great opportunity not only to participate in fun activities but also to learn more about the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood and how community leaders there have fought for equality.
