Earlier this year, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) honored the SFPUC with two awards for our exceptional water quality. SFPUC employees from our Water Supply and Treatment Division and Water Quality Division, including Angela Cheung, Justin Sibbring, Enio Sebastiani, and Raymond Mah, attended the awards ceremony at AWWA’s Annual Conference and Exposition in Anaheim, California. The awards were granted through the American Water Works Association’s Partnership for Safe Water, an unprecedented alliance of seven prestigious drinking water organizations. The Partnership for Safe Water requires participating utilities to produce water quality that is significantly higher than regulatory requirements.

Flood resiliency resources are available, including subsidized flood insurance and grants of up to $100,000 to help protect properties from flood damage

Ocean Beach is a community treasure, but it has been impacted by storm-driven waves and suffers from climate-induced erosion of the coastal bluffs. South of Sloat Boulevard, erosion has undermined and damaged beach parking lots, stormwater drainage facilities and the Great Highway itself. Storms continue to threaten critical wastewater treatment infrastructure and limit shoreline and beach access.

This year’s theme healthy bodies, healthy minds, and healthy spirits shined a light on the SECC’s commitment to support and uplift the holistic health of D10 residents and the broader San Francisco Community.
