In the heart of San Francisco, a small bakery is making waves. A proud CleanPowerSF customer, Rize Up Bakery, founded by Azikiwee Anderson or “Z” to most folks, has become a beloved destination for those seeking delicious bread and a taste of community. As we celebrate Black Business Month, it's fitting to shine a spotlight on this inspiring business and the story behind its success.

Across San Francisco, aging pipelines are being upgraded to ensure reliable water service to our customers. Another 2.5 miles of new water mains have recently been installed as part of the Diamond Heights Water Main Replacement Project, which wrapped up construction last month.

With 600,000 hours worked on the site last year, the Biosolids Digester Facilities Project has earned the Occupational Excellence Achievement Award from the National Safety Council. “This is a really big deal for us,” said Biosolids Project Safety Manager Jorge Torres. “Our safety performance really has been outstanding. We’re thrilled to be recognized for it.”

Project Pull is an internship led by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) and others within the public sector. They are proud to offer highly passionate students the opportunity to gain experience from their desired career field by getting to know and working with others in that field. This program has helped interns get out of their comfort zone and start to network and get to know new people so that they are able to thrive in their future job.
