SFPUC Updating Power Rates on July 1, 2024

As your local clean power provider, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission supplies more than 70% of the electricity used in San Francisco today through our CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power programs. 

We are currently updating our power rates for Hetch Hetchy Power and CleanPowerSF customers. These new rates will start July 1, 2024 

We recently hosted two informational webinars for residents to learn more about rate changes:  

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission will vote on the proposed power rates on Tuesday, May 14 at 1:30pm at City Hall. Members of the public attending in person or remotely will have an opportunity to provide public comment. The meeting agenda will be posted online:

About Our Rate Process 

As a not-for profit, public power utility, the SFPUC is committed to a transparent, public rate setting process that prioritizes local customers rather than profits for shareholders. 

We update our electricity rates each year and set our rates based on the cost of getting power to our customers. We also put money we collect back into programs that serve our local community.
