The new EFWS Pipelines and valves being installed at Clarendon and Dellbrook avenues will provide an additional water source for fire suppression after a seismic event. The EFWS acronym which stands for Emergency Firefighting Water System (EFWS), was formerly known as AWSS (Auxiliary Water Supply System).
San Francisco Emergency Firefighting Water System is vital for protecting against the loss of life, as well as the loss of homes and businesses by providing an additional layer of fire protection. The system is also used throughout the year for the suppression of multiple-alarm fires. The project location is Clarendon Avenue and Dellbrook Avenue.

The Project Team has a "punch list" of items to be adjusted or completed before the project will be issued a notice of completion.
What to Expect During Construction:
Construction Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. There may be periods of inactivity.
There may be noise, vibration, dust, parking and traffic impacts in the work zone and disruption to normal neighborhood activity.
Businesses and residents in the work zone will have access to their garages, although there may be temporary delays.
Parking will be prohibited in the work zone during work hours. Please see posted signs for exact details.
