                            Project Background
To minimize impacts to the roadway and adjacent residences and businesses, most of the sewer rehabilitation work will be performed using a trenchless method called Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP). Construction will include improvements to sewer lower laterals within the project area. In some locations, street excavation may be required, and advance notice will be provided. Project Benefits:- Address aging sewer system infrastructure
- Increase reliability of our City’s critical sewer system infrastructure
About the SSIP The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) recently launched the Sewer System Improvement Program (SSIP), a citywide investment to upgrade our aging sewer system and provide a more reliable, sustainable, and seismically safe system now and for future generations. The SSIP includes a series of facility upgrades at the Southeast Treatment Plant (SEP) located in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco.
