All-Electric Multifamily Program
Get help in making the transition from gas to all-electric multifamily affordable housing.
The All-Electric Multifamily Program helps apartment buildings that offer affordable housing in making the transition from natural gas to electric-based systems and appliances. This free program is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible program participants will receive a detailed whole-building energy assessment, an electrification plan, recommendations on available financial incentives, and technical assistance throughout their electrification journey.

To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements:
- You are an affordable housing building owner (or authorized representative of an owner) or an affordable housing organization.
- Your affordable housing building has 5 or more units and is served by CleanPowerSF and/or Hetch Hetchy Power.
- 75% or more of the residential units are designated as affordable.
Incentives & Assistance
The program offers, on a first come, first served basis:
- An on-site electrification and energy efficiency audit by an energy engineering professional.
- A custom-tailored electrification strategy document summarizing customized electrification strategies and energy efficiency opportunities.

Application and Enrollment
We are now accepting applications for both CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power customers on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage early enrollment to give the most flexibility in scheduling the electrification audit and delivery of results to better meet your organization’s needs.
"The All-Electric Multifamily Program is very needed! A team of amazing and highly skilled professionals assessed our properties in terms of electrification feasibility and needs. And they did it in detail! Now we know what it will take to electrify the buildings. The assessment was provided to us at no cost, which is not a minor matter for affordable housing these days."
- Magda Szymanska, Associate Director of Sustainability, TNDC
We understand that fully electrifying a building can be tricky, and every building needs its own plan. This program’s goal is to help participants learn how to electrify their buildings from beginning to end.
